WORKSHOP

A space to resize the boards that came from the sawmill

Making a harpsichord involves several different kinds of work: from pre cutting the boards that came from the saw mill and giving them their final size, making the soundboard and action parts, stringing and voicing, sanding and painting to turning the legs for the stand. For this my workshop is divided in various different spaces

An acclimatized room dedicated to make the soundboards. Humidity control is crucial in this phase

An elevator connects the workshop with the painting room

The painting is done with a brush, the final coats of varnish with a spray gun

The part of the workshop where I actually make the harpsichord, string it, voice it and make the keyboards

Indoor and outdoor drying of wood
